The conversion of the house below Mosogno was a balancing act between securing the old substance and new interventions. Flats shall be created in the industrial area Webergut on the edge of the Bernese suburb Zollikofen.
As part of the study commission, we have proposed a conversion of the existing structures, which is characterised by a high quality of living standards and which turns a former office building into a lively and collective place.
Together with other examples of reconstructed single-family houses from post-war modernism in and around Basel, the detached house in its cultural-historical and architectural significance is examined.
The jury appreciates the in-depth and almost archaeological study of the interventions, which mediate in-between authenticity and contemporary interpretation.
