Like many things in life, it was a complicated task. The detective felt lost, at times, in the labyrinthine castle, which was filled with unyielding obstacles and maniacal puzzles.
At one point, in order to explore one of the castle towers, she had to search for a shield. Once she obtained it, she placed it in the grasp of the statue of a knight.
Mechanisms within activated and heavy gears churned, moving the statue aside to provide an entryway into the tower.
Performing task after task, the detective relentlessly pursued the whereabouts of the sleeping Briar Rose. Though there were instances when she felt like quitting, she always found an inner strength to persevere through her trials.
Finally, after solving a challenging puzzle involving a life-size marionette stage, she earned a rusty old key.
With this key, and using other clues she had obtained, she unlocked a secret passageway in the graveyard, which led down to an underground chamber.
There was also a special machine in the room, which required the Rose Potion to activate. The machine would wake the princess and end the curse forever.
Once the detective injected the potion into the machine, however, the spirit of the Evil Godmother confronted her! Hiding in the form of a wretched crow, the Evil Godmother's spirit had been monitoring the detective throughout her investigation.
Red smoke seeped out of the crow's eyes in rapacious anticipation of hijacking Briar Rose's body. The detective did not panic.
Utterly composed, she coolly punched in the correct code sequence and the machine emitted a keen scent which awakened Briar Rose from her mystical enchantment before the Evil Godmother could possess her.
Once the princess awoke, the Evil Godmother's spirit had nowhere to go and was dispelled out of existence. The princess slowly got up. After such a long slumber, she obviously required some time to acclimate herself, not only to the world but to living again.
The detective helped the princess return to her traditional bed-chamber in the castle, which, amazingly, remained in pristine condition.
Looking out the window, Briar Rose marveled at her second chance at life. She marveled at the fantastic city that had grown up around her castle.
She marveled at the heroine who had conquered an epic curse. The detective, satisfied that she had completed her job, returned to the agency.

I have to say, the costumes, special effects and acting was really good and it was funny during the parts that were meant to be funny.

The lead character is played by a sleepwalker. I watched this movie and at the time there were two reviews so I seem to be a little late adding mine on there.
I was really bored one day and looking for something to watch that could hold my interest. I had already known that there would be something wrong with the ending in a cliffhanger sort of way because one of the original reviewers did mention that it seemed to be a pilot for a tv show and was therefor left unfinished with the assumption that it would be turned into a series.
I gave the movie four stars simply because I found it enjoying to watch. Yep fully admit I gave it an extra star just for that.
I figured out a little early that something was a little off about the whole thing so the ending was of no surprise but I do like how it all fell into place.
The main character kind of got on my nerves but eh what can you do. I watch movies for a purely entertaining purpose so I never go into anything fancy such as cinematography or budget.
I think they did great with what they had though it was obvious where most of their budget went which was to make sleeping beauty be well beautiful and mysterious.
The rest was somewhat low budget like a lifetime movie in my opinion. But I do watch lifetime movies so I could live with that.
I only took away one star because I know they set up more of a story and I am not sure if it will ever be explained unless they plan on eventually making a full length sequel to answer some of the other questions that were eventually brought up.
I would at the very least love a prequel of how everything came to be which I think would be much more interesting than this movie as it really was more of a set up - still fun to watch and a great way to waste time.
I mean it seems like she took out one with like ZERO problem - you would think they would have upped security at that point In general I would honestly say the ending was an ending and not a cliffhanger if you just accept that she indeed is supposed to bring about the end of the world - then there really isnt much else to see unless they plan on the good guy winning.
But since there are supposed to be quite a few other supernatural beings ready to bring her down I would have to scrap the idea that the ending was conclusive because apparently there has to be a fail safe and some bad asses are going to be coming after her to slow her down.
All in all I found it worth the few bucks I put out to rent it and I am happy I did. It definitely isnt for everyone and it does get a little repetitive at times - again with the main character that guy I really just wanted to hit with something but i appreciate what they were going for.
