Kept me on the edge of my seat right throughout the film. Having seen Ryan Corr in other things it was easy to have sympathy for him. I felt like I was apart of all the action.

Some scenes were obviously added for the international market flying kangaroo's but that didn't phase me.

Some aspects of the film were barely believable, but you have to remember this is a film, whatever happened to poetic license?

The actor who plays the baddy Taylor gives plenty of creepiness and menace to the part to keep you glued! I would watch it again and I cant say that for every horror I watch!

If your squeamish then probably best to avoid but if you like some good old slasher action you wont be disappointed! This is a really great sequel.

Sequels - horror sequels in particular - can often be a let down and I was a little dubious about this one as I loved the first film and wasn't sure how this would work, but they've done a great job of keeping the feel of the first film including the cat-and-mouse suspense while keeping it fresh and have managed to add some extra layers to the film which is now more a mix of action and horror this time around with more insight to Mick as a character which works really well.

He has some brilliant comedy moments which somehow works among the gruesome gore, which is laid on a lot heavier than in the first film.

The opening scene is brilliant and will probably let you know there and then if you're going to enjoy it or not, but it's well worth a punt as a standard serial-killer horror at its current price if you're not sure.

For me,this is a 4 star film that made a good sequel,but was never likely to live up to the first. That said,i would be very happy to watch it again, the main character is played well once again.

We pick up as the maniac,Mick,makes it clear he doesn't like people bothering him,as 2 annoying cops get on his wrong side only to regret it.

So it opens up having us aware Mick is just as crazy as ever. From there,we get a young German couple who encroach on his turf,one of these unfortunate victims leads on to the what becomes the main story of the film,as a guy who just wants to help out is soon playing a vicious game of cat and mouse.

So we have the poor victim trying to outrun and outsmart Mick. The gore is well done and makes its point that this is an all out horror sequel with more blood and kills.

It doesn't have the tension of the first film,but that is mainly because we know what Mick is all about and this is an extension on how he hates not just the british but anyone he feels doesn't belong on his land,his beloved home of Australia.

There is some tension with the main victim,wondering if he can possibly escape Mick's clutches. So a great job is done for those of us willing to accept the sequel is all about killing and torturing whoever Mick wishes to,making it frighteningly obvious if you see Mick,run like hell,or you'll soon be in it!

Report abuse. Wolf Creek was, when I first watched it, one of those few horror films where you view it with a sense of trepidation.

To an extent, a degree of fear of what was to follow The level of extreme violence and sadism in the original was what made it what it was I made the assumption that as all follow ups can leave a little to be desired, Wolf Creek 2 would be.

Not the case, although it did fall a little flat towards the end the victim has to endure a somewhat silly quiz on Australian history at the hands of Mick Taylor, the serial killer.

However, the rest of the film pulled absolutely no punches. The opening sequence, which endures for about 15 minutes before the opening credits, is truly staggering.

The two arrogant patrolling officers who come across Taylor suffer a pretty extreme and bloody fate. And so it continues, with two European tourists ending up the man particularly nastily and quickly despatched dead as one would expect.

A British tourist is the plaything of Taylor for about the last third of the film. He lives! But with a twist All said and done, another film that I will have to watch again with a degree of trepidation.

Wolf Creek can't do much for the Australian Tourist Board! Allegedly both films are based on some truth! I almost stopped watching this after about 15 minutes simply because I couldn't see where the film was going to go?

It appeared to me to have run out of options unfortunately and I don't think it was the fault of the actors or Greg McLean the Director of this and the first film.

There was a good mix of things and emotions, terror, romance and a little comedy in some of the scenes and the make-up and the prosthetics were especially good but the continuity of the film wasn't there.

It was as if each murder or act of malevolence by Mick Taylor John Jarrat was separate. I think the film was let down by the Screen Writing as the story had NO depth,.

View All Critic Reviews Aug 09, The original Wolf Creek had some considerable strengths: a brilliant slow-build first half, good characterisation and decent acting, along with a sense of wonder thanks to some superb photography of the Australian outback.

That the second half never quite worked didn't ultimately matter. With this belated sequel, the gore and horror quota is upped and the careful characterisation is shafted in favour of terrible black humour and too much screen time given to the racist, misogynistic villain Mike Taylor.

Daniel P Super Reviewer. Jul 21, There is a common misconception that Mick Taylor John Jarratt was a real person. In fact the character was created from the stories of Australia's most heinous criminals.

While the crimes themselves are real, they were committed by a variety of people, not just one man. What made both films work, was the character of Mick Taylor, who while being a horrific serial killer, was still very likeable.

Taylor is charismatic and most important of all very funny, and audiences in ate it up. After the success of the first film, a sequel was immediately planned, but put on hold due to the fact that some of the crimes portrayed in the film, were still being prosecuted in court.

The legal issues delayed the film eight years and kept it out of theaters, which is a shame because it was better than the first and received almost no exposure.

In the second installment of Wolf Creek, Mick isn't just torturing victims at his dungeon, he's chasing a man through the outback, and when they finally meet, they come to discover that they aren't entirely dissimilar from one another.

Ryan Corr Saw 3D plays the runner and is just as witty and entertaining as Taylor himself. The chemistry between the too was terrific and gave the series a whole new dynamic, which elevated it to another level.

Wolf Creek 2 is so much more intense and at the same time comedic, compared to the first film. The Wolf Creek films are no different and no less predictable than any other slasher film.

What makes them unique is a character that encompasses the personalities of multiple serial killers and gives the audience the rarest of bad guys, the one that you root for.

Even if you don't like slasher films, you may enjoy John Jarratt's extremely strong performance and get a few laughs in between the carnage.

Todd S Super Reviewer. Jul 14, Whilst not as gripping as the original, this still packs some interesting punches. John Jarratt as Mick Taylor plays well with schtick and nuances of his character, he is both humourous and menacing, which is not always easy to pull off in horror.

The film takes some twists that go off the beaten road, such as the set-up in the house with the couple and some of the interaction between Mick and Ryan Corr's character.

Unfortunately it ends on a bit of a damp squib which leaves you feeling a little cheated. However, the Kangaroo massacre with soundtrack more than makes up for it.
